Consistency is vital for creating a good user experience. We’ve put together a style guide for writing informational articles to help you do precisely that.
Brief description
Use the same formatting for every article
- Same font size
- If you use italics, then always use italics; if you use bold text, always use bold text
Titel
Choose a short title that is easy to understand. Please don’t use all caps.
Addresses
Don’t forget to provide addresses, which you can simply insert following the main body of text.
- Name of the company, organization, etc.
- Street and house number
- Postal code
- Website - if available
- Phone number - if available
Links
Use links to make it easier for your users to navigate to specific content in just a few clicks.
- Hyperlinks: Use the hyperlink icon to insert links directly into your text, for example.
- 'mailto:' Create a direct link to an e-mail address by typing 'mailto:' before the address or 'tel:' in front of a phone number. If the user clicks the link 'mailto:max@mustermann.de', for example, this will automatically open up an e-mail window with the recipient’s address already entered.
- Clickable phone numbers: If you create a clickable telephone link like 'tel:0123456798' this phone number is pre-dialed so that the user only has to confirm the call.
Category
Select the category that best describes your informational article to help you ensure both uniformity and clarity.
Files and images
You can insert files and images into your text. To do so, simply click the corresponding field to the right of the text box. This will open a folder where you can select the right file or image.
Careful: there are two fields to choose from - one for files and one for images. Select the right one for your article.
Visibility
Define your informational article’s visibility before saving it. Since not every article is relevant to every tenant, it helps if you specify who is allowed to read this article.
