Do you want to actively foster a pleasant atmosphere in your neighborhood? Do you like digital communities and want to build a network of people? Then you might be a born friend!
Who are the friends?
Friends are a group of volunteers who live in an area covered by the app. They work together to foster a vibrant neighborhood.
What do friends do?
Friends’ activities can be just as diverse and multifaceted as the people living in a neighborhood. Some of the initiatives can include events like summer parties or group brunches. Friends always have a sympathetic ear for their neighbors, too. In order to reach as many residents as possible, they use the app to communicate and are happy to help inexperienced people with the registration process. For anybody
who just recently moved into the neighborhood, friends are a welcome source of assistance as the newcomers try to find their bearings in this new environment. Or maybe you need a point of contact who isn’t your property manager?
How much time will it take?
At the beginning, especially, it’s a good idea to have meetings with other interested neighbors on a regular basis. That gives you a great opportunity to get to know one another and discuss ideas and possibilities.
And if you’re wondering what “regular” means: experience has shown that great things are possible with a monthly meeting. On the other hand, we also know friends who meet on a weekly basis. Anybody who has time simply joins them. Otherwise, the amount of time you’ll need depends greatly on the initiatives involved.
As a basic rule, activities are planned based on how much time everybody has available.
How can I take the first steps?
People often think getting started is tough when it’s actually quite simple. Posting a notice on the app’s Pinboard will allow you to reach a large number of your neighbors directly. At the start, it isn’t important at all how large or small the group is. Even if there are only two or three of you in it, that’s more than enough. Once word gets out about what the friends are doing, the group will attract new members quickly. If friends are already in place, simply attend the next event or ask them via the app when the next get-together is planned.
We’re already excited to see how things evolve in your little ecosystem.
