Safety is our number one priority. This also applies when it concerns your data or the data of your tenants. Therefore, we need to clarify that inviting your new tenants via registration code is not as secure as inviting them via email address.
If you decide to invite your tenants via registration code, we will provide you with some guidelines to keep the security risk as low as possible.
Safety through the correct composition of registration codes
- Minimum 6 characters
- Unique for any kind of building project, property or app
- Should NOT contain the following characters: I (i), l (L), O (o), 0 (Zero), 1 (One)
→ except these are used in words.
We also recommend using a fixed-width font when printing a registration code, displaying it on a website, or in an email. This way, the code stands out better from the rest of the text.
Safety through random generation of registration codes
Why? For example, if the tenants are provided with registration codes such as AAA1, AAA2, AAA3, they can easily guess the registration code of others or accidentally enter the wrong registration code (in this case, only the number).
There are tools that can help you create lists of random numbers or codes. We at Allthings do not host these tools and have not validated them, so their use is at your own risk.
