The Communication Center in the Allthings app enables effective and direct communication with your residents. With targeted posts you can share important information, strengthen the sense of community and respond to concerns. This guide offers best practices for using the Communication Center.
Choosing topics for posts
Choose topics that are relevant and interesting for your residents. Examples include:
- Important events: Information about planned maintenance work, events or changes to the house rules.
- Tips and tricks: Everyday advice such as energy-saving tips or recommendations for waste separation.
- Local recommendations: Notes on nearby events, new restaurants or leisure activities.
Make sure the content offers added value and contributes to a positive perception of your communication. You can find a list of ideas for post topics here.
Frequency of posts
The frequency of your posts should be carefully considered so as neither to overload residents nor to inform them too little. Recommendations:
- Important information: For urgent or relevant events, posts can be published as needed.
- Regular content: Topics such as "Tip of the week" or "Monthly event notices" should be posted at fixed intervals, for example weekly or monthly.
Avoid posting too frequently so as not to be perceived as spam. A well-structured editorial plan can help here. Feel free to use the scheduling feature when creating posts.
Filtering and sorting posts in the overview
Your pinboard posts are displayed in a table. This view is available in all pinboard areas – that is, under "All posts", "Scheduled posts", "My posts" and "Welcome messages". In each of these areas you can filter and sort the posts and adapt the view using individually displayable columns. The behavior matches the filters in Core data and Issue management.
Hover over a column header and open the column menu (three-dot icon). Select "Filter" to open the filter configuration.
- Choose a column, an operator and a value.
- Use "Add filter" to add further filter criteria. Multiple filters are combined with AND – only posts that meet all set conditions at the same time are displayed.
- Use "Remove all" to reset all filters.
The following columns can be filtered:
- Author: Posts by a specific person.
- Company: Posts by a specific company.
- Communication: Posts marked as important.
- Status: Posts by their current status.
- Visibility: Posts of a specific visibility scope (e.g. a property). The posts that are visible for the selected scope are displayed.
Using the same column menu you can also sort posts in ascending or descending order and pin individual columns to the left or right. With "Manage columns" you can show or hide columns and adapt the table view to your way of working.
Interacting with residents' posts
The Communication Center allows residents to create their own posts. As an administrator you can respond to these posts directly in the Cockpit:
- Select post: Navigate to the relevant resident post in the Cockpit.
- Comment: Use the comment function to give direct feedback, answer questions or provide further information.
Through timely and constructive comments you foster dialogue and show appreciation towards your residents.
Converting pinboard posts into tickets
Sometimes residents' posts contain concerns or problems that require further processing. In such cases it makes sense to convert the post into a ticket:
- Identify the post: Find the post that contains a specific concern.
- Convert: Use the function in the Cockpit to convert the post into a ticket. This transfers the concern into the relevant workflow so it can be processed efficiently.
Further details on this process can be found in this article.
Important post
You have the option to mark a post as important when creating it. Upon publication, all residents are then immediately informed about the new post by email and via the app's push notification. Thanks to seamless tenant communication, residents are informed by email about pinboard posts marked as important even if they have not yet registered. The entire post is displayed, so registration is not necessary.
