Introduction
Via the Core data in the Allthings Cockpit, you can add new residents to a unit by either sending a direct invitation by email or providing an activation code. Both ways lead to the invited person gaining access to the app and being automatically assigned to the correct unit.
Invite residents via Core data
- Navigate to the Core data menu in the Cockpit.
- Navigate to the desired unit in the table view: click on the property, then the building, and then the unit to open the detail view.
- Navigate to the "Rental periods" tab.
- If not yet available or necessary, create a new rental period.
- Under the "Residents" section, click on "Invite residents".
- Add name, email address, and optionally the phone number.
- Click "Invite" to send the invitation.
The invited person will receive an email invitation and will be prompted to confirm it.
Note: If an invitation is already active, no further invitation can be sent until the existing invitation has expired or been revoked.
Create activation codes
As an alternative to a direct invitation, you can generate an activation code that you can pass on to the desired person for self-registration in the app:
- Navigate to the Core data menu in the Cockpit.
- Navigate to the desired unit in the table view: click on the property, then the building, and then the unit to open the detail view.
- Navigate to the "Rental periods" tab.
- If not yet available or necessary, create a new rental period.
- Under the "Activation codes" section, click on "Create an activation code".
- Enter an individual activation code or leave the field blank to have a random code generated.
Special feature for ERP interfaces
As soon as an ERP interface is available, your residents must be invited via Tenant management. Otherwise, manual invitation in Core data can lead to complications.
