What is an ERP interface and how does it work with Allthings?
An ERP interface enables the automated data exchange between your ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning) and the Allthings platform. Your ERP system is the central software for managing property and resident data, accounting, and other functions. The interface aims to minimize manual data maintenance across Allthings and all connected systems, ensuring seamless data consistency.
With Allthings, the ERP interface acts as a bridge to import and update relevant core data such as properties, buildings, units, and rental contracts. When an ERP interface is used, the customer's ERP system is the primary "source of truth" for the core data, not Allthings. The data received from the ERP interface is cleaned, validated, enriched, transformed and made to work seamlessly with the data already existing in Allthings system.
The setup of the ERP interface can vary depending on the ERP system used. In general, the data is extracted from your ERP system and provided in a format that Allthings can read. Allthings processes this data to make updates on the platform. This can be done in different ways:
- Full-data sync: Older interfaces are often based on regular full data exports in the form of CSV files.
- Incremental sync: More modern interfaces only transfer the changes (deltas) to the data. This often happens via APIs or message queues that are continuously checked by Allthings for updates.
Further information on the technical implementation can be found in the article Technical implementation & setup.
Prerequisites for using the ERP integration
The use of an ERP interface with Allthings requires a contractual relationship between you, Allthings, and possibly your ERP provider. The exact conditions and the setup of the interface are contractually regulated with Allthings and are usually subject to a fee.
Specific prerequisites for the individual interfaces can be found in the partner-specific articles in the following section.
