Introduction
SPIE Suisse SA provides monthly energy and water consumption data, which Allthings displays directly in the Resident Portal in a dedicated view. This gives residents a transparent overview of their consumption without having to open a separate application.
The data is provided by SPIE and automatically retrieved and processed by Allthings once a month.
How it works
Once a month, Allthings automatically retrieves a consumption file from SPIE and calculates each unit's consumption for the previous month across four meters: electricity (kWh), heating (kWh), hot water (m³), and cold water (m³).
Features at a glance:
- Monthly consumption values for electricity, heating, hot water, and cold water
- Comparison with the unit's own 12-month average
- Community benchmark: a colour indicator (red / blue / green) shows whether consumption is above, on par with, or below the average for comparable units
- Automatic deletion of stored values when a tenancy ends (e.g. when a resident moves out)
- Direct access in the Resident Portal, with no additional logins
Information for residents
Access and use
You can find your consumption data directly in the main menu of your Resident Portal. There you can see:
- Your consumption for the previous month across electricity, heating, hot water, and cold water
- The comparison with your own 12-month average
- A community benchmark against similar units in the building
Values are updated once a month, not in real time.
Frequently asked questions
Who processes my data?
→ Consumption data is collected by SPIE and transmitted to Allthings once a month. Allthings displays the values in the Resident Portal.
How up to date is the data?
→ Data is updated once a month, reflecting the previous month's consumption.
What happens to my data when I move out?
→ The stored consumption data for your unit is automatically deleted once your tenancy ends.
Information for property management
Setup and activation
Activation is carried out together with the Allthings team and SPIE, including setting up the automated data transfer. To ensure consumption data is assigned to the correct units, the following must be entered as custom fields per unit in the Cockpit:
- Meter IDs: electricity, heating, hot water, and cold water
- Unit type: required to calculate the community benchmark
Management and control
Once set up, the solution runs automatically: consumption data is updated monthly with no manual effort. When a tenancy or contract ends, the stored values for the affected unit are automatically removed, no further action is required.
Introducing it to residents
The easiest way to inform residents is via a post in the Communication Center, so they know where to find their consumption data. Highlight the benefits: transparency, more conscious consumption, and easy comparison with the neighbourhood.
Support and further help
For questions about the consumption data itself, contact SPIE. For technical questions about the display in the Resident Portal, contact Allthings Support.
