Introduction

ABB-free@home is an intelligent system for controlling lights, heating, blinds, and other functions in the home. Through the Allthings app, residents can conveniently access the smart home system via a Universal Link micro-app, which leads directly to the ABB-free@home control interface.

How it works

The integration is done via a Universal Link micro-app. This micro-app does not provide its own functionality within the Allthings app but instead links to the ABB-free@home web application.

Residents can use the following features:

    • Control lights (on/off, dim)

    • Operate blinds and shutters

    • Adjust room temperature

    • Activate predefined scenes

Control is done via the user-friendly ABB app or the ABB web interface. Both are available on any device.

Access and usage

The ABB-free@home control is available as a micro-app in your Allthings app. When opening the micro-app, you will be redirected via a secure link to the ABB-free@home control interface. You will need login credentials for the ABB system of your apartment or property.

Steps:

  1. Log in to the Allthings app.

  2. Select the "ABB Smarthome" micro-app.

  1. Install the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Conveniently make adjustments to your home.

Frequently asked questions

I get redirected when I open the micro-app – is that safe?
→ Yes, this is a secure, encrypted link to the official ABB control interface.

I did not receive login credentials – what should I do?
→ Please contact your property manager or the certified electrical installation company.

Information for property managers

Setup and activation

  • The partner solution is integrated via a Universal Link micro-app in the Cockpit.

  • The ABB-free@home system must be installed and configured in the building.

  • The link to the ABB app is stored as a URL in the micro-app.

  • Visibility can be controlled via tags or specific channel assignment.

Management and administration

  • No deep technical integration is required.

  • Management is handled solely through visibility settings and the link to the ABB-free@home web interface.

  • If there are changes to the URL or access rights, it may be necessary to coordinate with the ABB system partner.

Introduction to residents

  • Communicate the new feature via a noticeboard post or a message including brief instructions.

  • Important: Allthings does not manage the ABB system login credentials – these are provided to residents by the property manager or the installing specialist company.
