Introduction
OTIS offers a direct connection between elevator systems and the Allthings app with this integration ("elevator2pinboard"). Faults, maintenance work, or status updates for elevators are automatically published as pinboard posts – transparent, up to date, and with no manual effort. This keeps residents informed at all times and relieves property management of follow-up inquiries.
How it works
The solution connects the OTIS elevator systems directly to the pinboard feature of the Allthings app. As soon as the technical status of a unit changes, the system automatically creates a post on the pinboard of the affected property.

Information for residents
Access and use
- Elevator status messages appear directly on the pinboard in your Allthings app.
- No additional app or login is required.
- Each message contains the relevant information about the elevator's current status (e.g. that a technician has been notified or the elevator is running again).
Frequently asked questions
Why do messages suddenly appear on the pinboard? → The system automatically detects technical status changes for the elevator and informs residents via the app, so no one is caught by surprise at a locked door.
Do I need to activate anything to receive this information? → No, notifications appear automatically on the pinboard of your property.
Who can help with questions about the elevator? → The message is for information purposes only. In case of an emergency, please use the usual emergency numbers or your property management's contact channels.
Information for property management
Setup and activation
- Setup is carried out by the Allthings team as part of onboarding: the OTIS solution is configured as a system integration that connects directly to the Allthings pinboard.
- This is not a standalone feature within the app, but an automated communication flow that runs in the background.
- The assignment happens at the property level, so only the relevant residents are notified.
Management and control
- The content is provided entirely by OTIS – Allthings only ensures it is displayed on the pinboard.
- Property management no longer needs to handle manual communication – all status updates are published automatically.
- If needed, the visibility of pinboard entries can be controlled in the Cockpit.
Introducing the feature to residents
Inform residents about the new feature via a pinboard post or a notice in the entrance area. Highlight the benefits: fast information in case of faults, no additional apps, more transparency in everyday life.

"From now on, you will receive important information about the elevator directly in your app. If the elevator has a fault or is being serviced, you will be informed automatically here on the pinboard."
