Introduction
SALTO Space is a smart, wire-free access control platform that replaces physical keys for shared spaces with digital access credentials.
The solution is linked to the Bookings function: as soon as a person books a resource (e.g. a co-working space) in the Resident Portal, a digital key for the SALTO JustIN app is automatically made available.
Functionality
The solution is available for Bookings in Allthings and uses both the standard data structure and the role and permission logic of Allthings. Confirmed bookings are automatically transmitted to SALTO Space: an access profile is created for the person booking and assigned to the matching access group for the booked resource. If the booking changes, the access profile is updated automatically. Once the booking ends or is cancelled, the access right is automatically revoked.

Book and pay: Reserve the desired resource in the Resident Portal and complete payment via the integrated online payment if required.
Important: to receive the digital key, your phone number must be stored with a "+" and the relevant country code (e.g. +41). - Install the SALTO JustIN app: Download the SALTO JustIN app to your smartphone if you haven't already. After your booking is confirmed, you will receive instructions by email and in-app.
- Receive your digital key: Log in to the SALTO JustIN app with your phone number. Exactly at the start of your booked time slot, the digital key is automatically sent to your smartphone.
- Use your access: Use the digital key in the SALTO JustIN app to open the booked resource during your reserved time slot. Access expires automatically once the booking ends.
Please note: only registered residents can book a resource. Access is only possible via the SALTO JustIN app; other apps are not supported.
Information for property management
Setup and activation
- Setup and activation is usually carried out by the Allthings team.
- A prerequisite is that the SALTO Space hardware (locking system and on-premise server) is already installed and operational.
- For each bookable resource, a matching access group is created in the SALTO Space web interface and linked to the relevant doors. The corresponding ID is then passed on to the Allthings team and assigned to the bookable resource.
Management and control
- Technical administration of access groups and doors is carried out via the SALTO Space web interface, not via the Allthings Cockpit.
- Bookings themselves continue to be managed as usual via the Allthings Cockpit.
- If door hardware changes (e.g. a lock is replaced), the corresponding mapping must be updated in SALTO Space.
Introducing the solution to residents
- Communicate the new access solution, for example via the pinboard or a notice in the property.
- Explain the benefits: keyless access, automatic activation at the start of the booking, no physical key handover required.
- Point out that the SALTO JustIN app and a correctly stored phone number are required to receive the digital key.
